Bali Tennis Tournament does not smoke anymore

The Bali Tennis WTA Tournament has a new name. Wismilak, although still present of the site of the Bali WTA Tour, has withdrawn itself as main sponsor.
Wismilak, producer of still very popular Kretek cigarettes and cigars stated that they face difficulties being associated with sporting events, and of course this is the international trend. Several International Sporting Associations have banned tobacco companies.

Kevin Lindsey, the tournament director, said in the Jakarta Post that the new sponsor is the Indonesian division of the Commonwealth Wealth Bank.

Date of the tournament: 9 to 16 September 2007
Location Grand Hyatt Bali, Nusa Dua
Players expected in the USD 225.000 tournament will be Svetlana Kuznetsova, Alicia Molik, Flavia Pennetta, Zheng Jie, Michaella Krajicek, Francesca Schiavone, Patty Schnyder and Daniela Hantuchova.
