Lovina Redevelopment 2026

Major Tourism Upgrade in North Bali

Lovina Beach, one of the most iconic tourist destinations in North Bali, is widely known for its early morning dolphin-watching tours in their natural habitat. In 2026, this popular destination is set to undergo a major infrastructure upgrade aimed at improving visitor comfort and safety.

According to reports from Detik.com, the redevelopment project will enhance various facilities across the Lovina tourism area. Buleleng Regent I Nyoman Sutjidra stated that the initiative is designed to provide a better travel experience for both domestic and international tourists.

Infrastructure Improvements at Lovina Beach

The revitalization program focuses on several key upgrades within the Lovina area, including:

  • Improving road access leading to the beach
  • Developing wider and more comfortable pedestrian pathways
  • Upgrading public facilities
  • Reorganizing the beachfront area
  • Installing improved lighting systems
  • Enhancing environmental cleanliness

These improvements aim to transform Lovina Beach into a more organized, safe, and tourist-friendly destination in North Bali.

Traditional Ceremony Marks the Beginning of Construction

The redevelopment project officially began with a groundbreaking ceremony on March 3, 2026. The event featured traditional Balinese rituals such as Ngeruak and Mecaru, which symbolize purification and blessings before construction begins.

The ceremony took place at Tasik Madu Beach, part of the Lovina coastal area, reflecting Bali’s strong cultural traditions that remain an integral part of development projects.

Project Timeline and Development Plan

According to Radar Buleleng, the Lovina Beach redevelopment project is scheduled for completion on July 3, 2026.

The first phase of development focuses on:

  • Improving drainage systems
  • Upgrading Binaria–Mawar Road as the main access route to Lovina Beach
  • Revitalizing nearby river flows to improve environmental conditions

This redevelopment is expected to position Lovina Beach as a more modern and well-organized destination while preserving its cultural identity. The infrastructure improvements are also anticipated to attract more visitors and boost the local economy in North Bali.
