Regent of Buleleng Launched 14 Digital Villages in Binaria-Lovina Tourism Area

North Bali is rich with tourism potential, from the stunning sunset views of Lovina Beach to the natural beauty and unique local culture found in its many villages. But have you ever imagined what it would be like if these traditional villages were integrated with digital systems to support daily activities, especially financial transactions?

Expansion of Digitalization

This vision has now taken a step forward. Buleleng Regent, I Nyoman Sutjidra, launched the development of 14 Digital Villages and the Binaria-Lovina Tourism Area as part of the region’s acceleration and expansion of digitalization. Under this initiative, all income and expenditure in the villages will be managed digitally. This not only ensures greater transparency, but also strengthens the flow of regional tax revenue and reduces the risk of illegal levies.

The Regent emphasized the importance of educating the public on using QR codes and QRIS (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard) for digital payments. "If the entire community makes transactions using QRIS, we believe it will significantly reduce revenue leakage in Buleleng", he stated.

Bank Indonesia

This initiative is also backed by Bank Indonesia. Gunawan Sutarto, an advisor to the Bali Representative Office of Bank Indonesia, highlighted that the central government is committed to supporting digital transformation, particularly in payment systems.

Golden Indonesia

"Strengthening the Regional Digitalization Acceleration and Expansion Team (TP2DD) is crucial to ensure each region’s program aligns with the national vision of a Golden Indonesia by 2045", he concluded.
