North Bali Airport is no rumor anymore?

The North Bali airport is no fairy tale, or bar talk anymore as it seems. We have heard that land transaction are on hold the the area where the airport is going to be build. (starting in August 2013)

Even the location is pretty certain, there is even a website showing the location in detail:

While some are looking forward to the new airport and the benefits it may have on the North Bali economy, other are afraid that the now relatively quit North of Bali will turn into another tourist trap, loosing its authenticity.

And what will the local population in the area of Kubutambahan, Bungkulan and Sangsit do when they here quite some temples have to make way for the airport?
