As the national school, which was labeled as international Standard school, SMA N 1 Singaraja often receives guests or groups that would like to do a study visit. The guests may be from other areas in Bali or even out of Bali. Last Tuesday, on May 23, 2007, SMA N 1 Singaraja received a group of 100 senior high school teachers from the Depok area, West Java, who would like to do a study visit in this school. The guests were received warmly by the head master, Nyoman Darta. He explained them the teaching and learning activity in that school. As an international standard school, SMA N 1 Singaraja implements different teaching and learning system from other senior high schools. The quality of the teachers is increased; many of the teachers have been completed their master degree, while some other have not yet. The quality of their English has improved. All teachers and administrators of this school should attend regular English courses after office hours in the afternoon. They are trained by senior instructors from IALF Bali. On certain days of the week, all school members should practice conversation in English.
That teachers group from Depok, who previously had visited four other international standard schools in Denpasar, was very impressed by the situation in SMA N 1 Singaraja. The system, method, and the quality of the teachers, the students and the number of medals, cups, and other forms of achievements had by SMA N 1 Singaraja are far above the Senior high schools in Depok area. Moreover, SMA N 1 Singaraja is completed by a language laboratory, the use of Information and Communication Technology, and library with complete series of books.
