A Fisherman’s Daughter From Buleleng with Countless Achievements

Made Dea Vio Lantini is a remarkable young woman from Buleleng who has achieved countless accomplishments despite her humble beginnings. Born into a fisherman's family, Dea grew up in a small house near the coast—just one bedroom shared by five family members. Yet, that modest home holds the stories of her determination and journey in chasing her dreams.

In a video shared by @santosoim on Instagram Reels, Dea is seen surrounded by an impressive collection of trophies and certificates. In the same clip, she shares her childhood fear—wondering if her father would return safely from the sea each time he went fishing. These fears, combined with her family’s economic struggles, became the driving force behind her ambition to change her future through education and hard work.

Though financial limitations loomed large, Dea never allowed them to define her path. A proud graduate of SMA Negeri 1 Singaraja, she is now set to take a major step toward her dream: pursuing higher education at one of Indonesia’s most prestigious universities — the Institute Technology Bandung (ITB).

Sexual violence cases remain a scourge in Buleleng Regency, especially among children. This controversy has attracted the attention of Made Dea Vio Lantini, the 2024 Child Ambassador for the Special Protection Commission.

After being inaugurated as a child ambassador by the Buleleng Regency Population Control, Family Planning, Women's Empowerment, and Child Protection (DP2KBP3A) Office on Sunday (January 28, 2024), Dea, as she is familiarly known, expressed her commitment to eradicating sexual crimes in North Bali.

One of her most notable accomplishments was winning first place in a national debate competition at the Institut Pendidikan Indonesia, earning her a prestigious rotating trophy from the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia.

Her resilience, discipline, and dedication have helped her overcome limitations and turn dreams into reality. Dea is a living example that with hard work and consistency, no dream is ever too far out of reach.
